Account deletion

Delete your PetPort or Pet Partner account

Last updated 17 September 2026

You can close your PetPort or Pet Partner account at any time, from inside the app or by writing to us. This page explains both routes, what stops at once, what is anonymised after 30 days, what we keep and why, and the three situations in which we have to refuse.

Which app and company this covers

This page covers PetPort, the pet passport and health-record app for pet parents, published on Google Play as cloud.petport.mobile by NHD Lifestyle Private Limited, Vadodara, Gujarat, India. It also covers Pet Partner (cloud.petport.partner), our app for clinics, pet businesses and shelters, which some of its screens call PetPort Partner. A Pet Partner login is usually a separate account from a PetPort one. If both apps use the same account, for example because you signed in to PetPort with the mobile number a Pet Partner invitation was sent to, deleting it closes both.

Delete it yourself, in the app

This is the fastest route and needs nothing from us. Do it before uninstalling, because uninstalling on its own does not delete anything held on our servers.

In PetPort, the pet-parent app

  1. Open PetPort and make sure you are signed in.
  2. Go to the Me tab, the last one on the right of the bottom bar.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  4. Read the confirmation and confirm. The dialog says this can't be undone, but for the first 30 days it can, as explained below. Your account is closed and signed out immediately, and the 30-day schedule below starts from that moment.

In Pet Partner, the app for clinics, pet businesses and shelters

  1. Open Pet Partner, make sure you are signed in, and open one of your workspaces. If you can't sign in because the app says your account is not an active staff member, or it shows No workspaces yet, write to us instead.
  2. Tap More, the last tab on the right of the bottom bar.
  3. Scroll down and tap Settings.
  4. In the Security section, tap Delete account.
  5. Read the confirmation and tap Delete account. You are signed out straight away, and the 30-day schedule below starts from that moment. If the deletion cannot go ahead, the app shows a message saying why.

Deleting closes your login for every workspace you belong to, not only the one you have open. The Pet Partner website has no delete option, so use the app or write to us.

Delete it yourself in Pet Partner, the business app

Pet Partner accounts are created by a team admin inviting a work e-mail, and they sign in with that e-mail and a password rather than a one-time code. The route to delete one is different from the pet parent app, so follow these steps instead.

  1. Open Pet Partner and sign in with your work e-mail address.
  2. Tap More, the last tab on the right of the bottom bar.
  3. Tap Settings, then scroll to the security section.
  4. Tap Delete account, read the confirmation and confirm. The same 30-day schedule described below applies.

If you are the only owner of a clinic, business or shelter workspace, the app will refuse until you add another owner or close the workspace. That is deliberate: closing your account would otherwise lock your colleagues out of their own records.

The undo described below works the same way, except that you sign back in with your work e-mail and password rather than a mobile number and code.

If you have already uninstalled the app

Neither the PetPort website for pet parents nor the Pet Partner website has a delete option, so if the app is gone from your phone there is no self-serve button we can offer you here. Write to us instead and we will process the deletion for you.

Send your request to

info@petport.cloud

For a PetPort account, include the mobile number it is registered to. For a Pet Partner account, include the work e-mail address you sign in with and the name of your clinic, business or shelter. Do not send us a password, a one-time code, or any payment detail; we never need them and will never ask for them.

We will verify that the request comes from the account holder before doing anything irreversible, then confirm by e-mail once it is recorded. We aim to complete verification within 7 days, and in any case within the 30 days the DPDP Act allows. The reversible window described below then runs as normal.

Three situations where we have to refuse

The app tells you which one applies. None is permanent. Clear it, then delete your account again.

You are the only owner of a business workspace

If you are the sole owner of a clinic, pet business or shelter on PetPort, closing your account would lock its staff out of their own records. First make another active team member an owner: in the app that role is shown as Clinic Admin in a clinic, Owner in a pet business, and Manager in a shelter. A new person you invite only counts once they have accepted. To close the workspace instead, write to us.

You have unpaid invoices

An invoice a clinic or pet business has issued to you, and that you have not paid, does not disappear because an account closed. Settle it first. Invoices your own workspace has issued to its customers do not block this.

A booking you have paid for is not settled yet

If money for a booking is still in flight between you and the provider, we wait for it to land rather than cancel mid-payment. PetPort never holds your money, so there is no balance here for us to hand back.

What stops immediately

All of this happens the moment you confirm, on the same day.

You are signed out everywhere

Your account stops working, every session on every device is revoked, and you cannot sign back in while the deletion is pending.

Upcoming bookings are cancelled

Future appointments for you, or for pets only you hold, are cancelled and your place in any clinic queue is released. Where a provider's late-cancellation policy applies, the fee is recorded on the cancellation and is not charged to you.

Reminders and messages stop

Vaccine and medication reminders on pets only you own are cancelled, and anything already queued for you is stopped. No further WhatsApp message, e-mail or push notification is sent.

Subscriptions end

An active PetPort Pro subscription is cancelled outright rather than left to run to the end of its period, so no autopay mandate survives.

Sharing access is withdrawn

You are removed from your household and from any business workspace you belonged to, so nothing further is shared with you or in your name.

Your public pet pages come down

For pets nobody else in your household still holds, the public passport page a QR scan would open is switched off, and any active lost-pet alert is cancelled.

Then 30 days, and you can change your mind

Your data is kept, not erased, for 30 days. That is deliberate: a tap made by accident, or by someone who picked up your phone, should be reversible. To undo it in PetPort, enter your mobile number in the app as if signing in. Once the one-time code is confirmed we offer you a restore rather than a login. The Pet Partner app has no undo option. If you deleted a Pet Partner account by mistake, write to us straight away, before the 30 days run out.

Restoring returns your account and your sharing access. It does not return cancelled bookings, because the provider has already been told the slot is free, and it does not restart a subscription, because re-charging your card off the back of an undo would not be right.

What happens after the 30 days

A daily job then anonymises your record. This is an anonymisation rather than an erasure, and the difference is worth stating plainly.

Your identity is overwritten

Your mobile number, e-mail address, city, state, pincode and profile photo are cleared, your name is replaced with “Deleted user”, and your login credentials are replaced with a placeholder. The number is released, so it can be registered again.

Third-party contacts are overwritten

Emergency contact names and phone numbers on your pets are overwritten. Those numbers belong to people who never had an account here to ask on their own behalf, so they are removed outright.

Your pets are retired, not erased

Pets left with no remaining household member are marked inactive and taken off every public page. The underlying records are retained, because PetPort never destroys a record, and because a clinic's record of having treated an animal is that clinic's obligation to keep rather than ours to delete.

After this point the deletion cannot be reversed. We can no longer identify you, so we can no longer restore anything to you. In PetPort, export whatever you want to keep before you start. Pet Partner has no personal export, and your workspace's records stay with the workspace.

What we keep, and why

Being straightforward about this is more use to you than a clean-sounding promise. None of it is used to contact you, to profile you, or for any commercial purpose, and after anonymisation none of it points back to you by name or number.

Clinical records

Vaccinations, medical records, prescriptions, lab reports, diagnoses and weight history are retained. They are a treating clinic's statutory record as much as yours, and an animal's vaccination history is what a future vet or a rescuer most needs. They stay attached to the pet, which is no longer publicly reachable and no longer linked to your identity.

Photos and documents

Photos, video clips and uploaded documents are retained in our cloud storage alongside the pet record they belong to, rather than destroyed. If you want a particular file removed, ask us and we will remove it.

Consent and data-access logs

Records of what you consented to, and of who looked at your data, cannot be edited or removed by design; that is what makes them worth anything. They are retained in anonymised form for audit under the DPDP Act 2023.

Financial records

Invoices and ledger entries for payments already made are retained for the period Indian tax and accounting law requires. We cannot delete the record of a transaction that took place.

Fraud and safety records

Where an account is linked to an open fraud or abuse investigation, the minimum necessary record is retained until that matter closes.

If you want something in these categories removed and you believe you have the right to have it removed, write to us and say so. We would rather work through the specific case with you than point at a policy.

Memorial profiles

A memorial page is not removed by an account deletion. If you want a pet's memorial taken down, or kept online after you close your account, say so in your request and we will do that. We will neither remove one nor keep one without being asked.

Questions, or something went wrong

Write to info@petport.cloud. The same address reaches our Grievance Officer under the DPDP Act 2023 if you are unhappy with how a request was handled.
